The Texture of Light won a place on the Varuna HarperCollins Manuscript Development course in 2010. This was my first novel. I’ve come along way since 2011 and I suppose that I am more nuanced in my approach to intergenerational trauma and sexuality these days. I was 27 when I wrote this novel, and I suppose you can be excused for being painfully earnest in your 20s.
